Sustainability Workshop Saturday Series
Program One – What is Sustainability?
All Youth ages 7 – 12 are invited to join us Saturday May 2nd, 10:00 AM to NOON to learn about natural stewardship, ecology, and sustainability.
We will plant in the greenhouse and outdoor raised beds, which will provide fruits and vegetables all summer long at Adventure Point. Participants will plant and take home their own starter plant too!
We will also explore the Mill Creek watershed, and learn about Water Conservation methods.
This program ends at Noon, and does not include lunch. No BSA Membership is required – bring your friends!
Program Two – Sustainability Merit Badge Day
Scouts BSA Members will start the Sustainability Merit Badge. This is a TWO SESSION Merit Badge Workshop.
Saturday May 2nd, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
(Lunch is provided – Field Uniform not required for this session)
The followup for this MB will be a workshop in the Fall, where work started at this course will be turned in, and project follow up will occur. This is NOT a one and done Merit Badge, but it is a great hands-on way to learn how we can be better stewards of our environment and our world. JOIN US!
Come prepared to work with dirt, water, and truly explore how our stewardship will impact the world we live in. We will send a reminder about pre-requisites to every registrant when they register. See below for Pre-Requisite List. Also, see attached MB summary.
Sustainability Merit Badge Pre-Requisites: 1; WATER 2A; FOOD 2A; ENERGY choose B or C; STUFF 2A; 4 choose any 2, this will be for session 2; 6 – come with this ready to share. Questions about pre-requisites? Email us no later than April 15th to have sufficient time to BE PREPARED for this May Merit Badge course.
This is the 2nd event in our Sustainability Program at Adventure Point.
